New stock of geese are present!!
In the care right now are 190 little geese.
For those who are interested,
it is advisable to call first to get the recent update.
It's because I will make a priority to sell them to buyers who already ordered them earlier.

Chicken and Whistling Duck... An Old Village Nostalgia

When growing up in a village, chickens and ducks are the common farm animals raised. The memorable moments are the high and low sounds of the chickens and ducks when it's feeding time. But if you live in the city, these environment doesn't exist... no rooms to raise any.

At Masiranfarm, these chickens and ducks is not the main selling objective. But as addition to the farm to vary the farm animals and to make the environment lively. The sounds of these chickes, ducks, guinea fowls and geese are the same as an orchestra playing its best symphony. This next video shows the event when the owner is feeding them.

Get To Know Guinea Fowl

Guinea Fowl is in a bird species. Some would raised them due to the beautiful feathers and some were captivated with their body shape that are different from any ordinary chiken. And also their meat are a lot more delicious.

Little Geese Set Free From Cages

New born geese must be kept in cages to supply the right temperature so that they will not be cold. This continues for several weeks but they are also being let loose for a while to have a chance to eat the weeds.


For better understanding, the next video shows less that a month old grey geese let loose. It shows that the little ones looks a lot "happier" while learning to search for food.

Geese Mating At MasiranFarm

Mating process occur easily when there is water reservoir such as pond near by. These geese will mate faster and easier in water. The next video shows the geese mating event taken in the morning between 8.00 - 9.00 am on 28th December.

Method to identify the gender of Guinea Fowl

Their gender can only be identified easily when their age >3 month:
  • The male ears are much larger and bright red in color.
  • The male horn are much bigger and pointy.
  • Sometimes the male grow spur.
  • Male voice has 1 syllable i.e. Chi... chi... chi... (can't make the same sound as female)
  • Female voice have 2 syllable i.e. Be-keek... Be-keek... Be-keek... (could also make male sound)
  • Male body is round hump-back
  • Female body is long
  • When the fowl was caught, you can feel the distance between female tighs are a lot more wide

How to look after them?

Guinea Fowl chick
  • After hatched, put them in a cage complete with 60 @ 100 Watt lamp for 1 month and give them carghill starter bran @ 201C.
  • Release 1 month old fowl in a bigger cage and feed them grower pallet. After 2 months, release them in a wide area.
  • In the farm, build a shelfs with @ without roof for them to sleep.
  • During the day, they will feed on anything they can found in the farm i.e: bugs, weeds, seeds, etc.
  • They like to lay their eggs in the bushes and the eggs must be taken every day.
  • It's better to incubate the eggs because they will leave the remaining eggs after only a few chick hatched. They eggs will hatched within 33 days.
  • Eggs hatching depends on the breed. with the best breed there is, the percentage for the eggs to hatch can reach 100%.
The market price for the virgin fowl is RM25 each, the mother is RM 50 each...
I have eaten them and compare to other chicken @ duck meat, their meat a lot more delicious especially when it was cooked as "rendang pedas"

Indicator:-

jantan = male
betina = female

This method can be trusted but not 100% sure success.
